Carlos Beltran Was Pissed Off About the Way Yasiel Puig Flipped His Bat After Hitting a Triple Last Night

Everyone is talking about this play today.

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has everyone talking this morning. And there are a whole lot of people, including current and former MLB players, who aren't real happy with him.

During last night's Cardinals/Dodgers NLCS game, Puig flipped his bat and raised his hands after hitting what he thought was a home run. But the ball actually ended up hitting the outfield wall and getting tracked down by St. Louis outfielder Carlos Beltran. Puig still hustled his way to a triple on the play. But some people thought he overreacted by flipping his bat after hitting the ball. And one of those people was Beltran, who questioned Puig's actions after the game.

"He still thinks he's playing somewhere else," Beltran said, referring to Puig's days of playing in Cuba. "I don't know."

A quick scan of Twitter shows that Beltran isn't the only one unhappy with Puig right now, either:

I am still annoyed by Puig's actions on the field last night. #cocky #annoying
I don't think I'm a purist; I'm certainly not a STL fan. That being said, Puig acts like he's been in the league 10 years. It's annoying.
Puig really needs to learn the morals and baseball rules. His talent is ridiculous but his attitude and intelligence is honestly annoying.
Literally Yasiel Puig I am DONE WITH YOU YOURE SO ANNOYING.
I hate Puig. Hes so arrogant and he's only a rookie. Hes gonna be more annoying to watch than Arod.

We don't see what the big deal is. Whether Puig flipped his bat or not, he still ended up on third base. And he still helped his team win. Had he gotten thrown out at third or, worse, only ended up with a single or a double because of his bat flip, then we would understand the outrage. But this is playoff baseball. Guys get excited. So let them celebrate in whatever way they want.
