The jury (including Jay Leno) has deliberated and the 2014 Honda Accord has been named Green Car Journal's "Green Car of Year." The competition was stiff with the Audi A6 TDI, BMW 328d, Mazda 3, and Toyota Corolla rounding out the list of finalists. The Accord is available with powertrains ranging from the four-cylinder to the plug-in hybrid. Accepting the award at the Los Angeles Auto Show was Honda senior vice president Mike Accavitti, who said, "It's all about fuel efficiency so this is a testament to our efforts that we're on the right track." With around 50mpg for the Hybrid, the 2014 Accord definitely earned its spot in the winner's circle.
