Michael Jordan Is Not a Fan of NBA Teams Tanking Games

So if the Bobcats suck this year, it won't be on purpose.

Michael Jordan is an expert at building successful sports franchises. Just look at…Wait a second, WTF are we talking about? Isn't he the owner of the Bobcats?!

Yes, he is. But at any rate, MJ was just asked about the idea of NBA teams "tanking" in order to improve their chances of getting one of the top picks in the NBA Draft lottery. And he said that he is not in favor of it because it's not the right way to build a franchise.

"I don't know if some teams have thought of that," he said. "That's not something that we would do. I don't believe in that. If that was my intention, I never would have paid Al Jefferson $13 million a year."

The good news for Jordan is that he shouldn't have to tank this season. The Bobcats are plenty bad on their own—sorry, Mike, but Al Jefferson is not the solution to your problem—and should do the tanking for him. So it really won't matter if he's a fan of tanking or not.
