Delta Will Not Allow In-Flight Cellphone Calls

It doesn't care what the FCC allows.

The FCCvoted to consider allowing cellphone calls during flights, but don't expect to talk it up on Delta if such a change is made. In a company memo, Delta CEO Richard Anderson said the airline will not allow in-flight cellphone calls. Delta isn't alone. Virgin America and Southwest have also suggested they won't allow calls, even if the FCC gives it the go-ahead.

The reason for a continued ban may be because of the annoyance caused by in-flight calls. Passengers may not want to hear their neighbor chat away incessantly. But really, is a cellphone call any more annoying than a normal conversation? Why would we rather hear two people talking next to us than just one? I might be an outlier here, but I could care less if people make calls on the plane.
