This past weekend there was an amateur drag race series at the Palm Beach International Raceway. Normally that wouldn't catch our attention, but then we heard about two of the vehicles that faced off. A 2013 Tesla Model S P85 went head-to-head with the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z51, pitting electricity vs. gas, American electric vs. American muscle.

Each car took a W in the two-race battle, but if it weren't for the better reaction time of the Tesla driver during the first race, the Corvette likely would have won both. The C7 Z51 'Vette boasts 455 horsepower, while the top-of-the-line Model S comes in at 416. That goes to show how much difference a driver can make, even in a slower car. Remember that next time you're stopped next to a superior car at a red light.
