The Tesla Model S is a rear wheel drive vehicle, because what we all wanted it to be was as close to a classic sport sedan as possible. Of course, this means that sales are limited in the Northern United States where AWD is a primary seeling point of many cars.

Now it has been confirmed that an AWD Model S will debut later this year or early next year, probably alongside the Model X SUV. While we think this is great for electric car enthusiasts in snow climates, we also wonder if it will make the acceleration even better? Four tires pushing the ground back is certainly better than two.
