When we first saw the Bugatti Galibier sedan, we thought that it looked more like the kind of car that Ettore Bugatti himself would have made, had he been alive today. A massively powerful sedan with a distinctive look and incredible luxury would have certainly made a splash.
Sadly, it's now official that the Galibier will never see production. Why? Because Bugatti thinks it would be too confusing for its customers. Bugatti's Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber said “We have talked many, many times about the Galibier, but . . . it would confuse our customers. With the Veyron, we placed Bugatti on top of all super-sports-car brands in the whole world. Everyone knows that Bugatti is the ultimate super sports car. It’s easier for current owners, and others who are interested, to understand if we do something similar to the Veyron [next]. And that is what we will do. There will not be a four-door Bugatti.”
So yeah, apparently the concept of "this isn't exactly like the Veyron but newer" is way too difficult to grasp. At least this means that whenever Bugatti manages to sell the last 40 Veyrons, there will be a new Veyron.
