Even though Jason Collins stressed before tonight's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets at the Staples Center that he wants to focus entirely on the game of basketball, it's difficult to undermine this moment in NBA history. Once his name was announced, it became official that Collins is and will forever be the first openly gay man to play in the league. While there were people opposed to Collins' participation in the NBA, it's great to see the Staples Center crowd giving him such a great ovation. Congrats, Jason!
