Even though there are tons of terrible consequences to doing it, people unfortunately drink and drive every single day. However, most people don't do it with their kids in the car. That's what one New Jersey man did earlier this week, though, and he's going to get into really big trouble for doing it.
Mike Tripician, a 30-year-old man from Ventnor, N.J., was allegedly under the influence of alcohol on Tuesday afternoon when he drove his SUV onto a beach in Ventnor with a 2-year-old and a 16-month-old in the backseat and accidentally flipped the vehicle. And he didn't stop there, either. A few minutes after the accident took place, police showed up to investigate what had happened. And with his kids hanging upside-down in their car seats inside of the SUV, Tripician reportedly attempted to run into the ocean to allude the authorities. He then kicked an EMT in the face when police finally caught up with him and refused to go down quietly. It sounds like he caused quite a scene.
Police were eventually able to subdue Tripician and place him under arrest. He was subsequently charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, and obstructing the administration of the law. Oh, and to make matters ever worse, Tripician is a firefighter in Ventnor. So outside of losing his chance to win the "Father of the Year" award this year, Tripician also may have cost himself his job by getting behind the wheel after drinking. What in the world was he thinking?!
