For a lot of Americans, the ultimate forbidden fruit is a new Land Rover Defender. The venerable off-roader doesn't meet US safety requirements, so it hasn't been sold in the country for some time. This means that the ones that are here can go for obscene amounts of money, and often aren't in very good condition. These are un-driven Defender 110s, which is great news for anybody with a strong desire for one.
The bad news is that they're probably not US street legal, and that all 43 of them are being sold as a lot, so unless you're planning something that would be referred to as a junta, this probably isn't exactly what you were hoping for. Expect to see these show up in Africa or South/Central America some time soon.
