Less than two weeks ago, it didn't look like Serge Ibaka was going to be able to play in the 2014 Western Conference Finals. He suffered a pretty serious calf injury during the Thunder's playoff series against the Clippers, and the thought was that his 2013-14 NBA season was over. But in the days leading up to Game 3 of Oklahoma City's series against the Spurs, it started to look more and more like Ibaka could make a comeback at some point in the near future. And then—boom—there he was last night, suited up for the Thunder for Game 3 of the WCF.

So how in the world did Ibaka go from being done for the season to returning to the Thunder lineup in less than two weeks? According to Ibaka's girlfriend Keri Hilson, the solution to his problem was a whole lot of "God and ice."

"God and ice," she said last night when asked about how Ibaka made such a quick recovery from his calf injury. "God and ice."

Having Hilson by his side the whole time probably didn't hurt, either.

"As soon as I heard, I didn't feel comfortable being anywhere else," she said. "Even though he didn't say it, I knew he needed me. I needed to do anything I could to put a smile on his face."

It clearly worked. And now Thunder fans are the ones with smiles on their faces as they head into Game 4 of the WCF trailing just 2-1 in the series.
