After a dizzying series of thrilling Game 7s over the last 24 hours, we were bound to get a dud somewhere in there. The Spurs-Mavericks matchup was certainly that.

San Antonio kept the pedal down for the entire game, jumping out to a 35-23 lead at the end of the first quarter, a 51-27 lead just four minutes into the second, and never maintaining a lead of fewer than 14 points throughout the second half as they ran away with a 119-96 victory in Game 7 against the Dallas Mavericks.

Tony Parker led the way for the Spurs by scoring 32 points, with 17 of those coming directly from drives to the basket. The Spurs also go healthy contributions from Manu Ginobili (20 points), Danny Green (16 points, 4-for-6 on three pointers), Tim Duncan (15 points, eight rebounds), and Kawhi Leonard (15 points).

The Mavericks really struggled all game long, shooting just over 40 percent from the field and surrendering 26 points off of 14 turnovers. Dirk Nowitzki (8-for-21) and Monta Ellis (3-for-11) did not have their best shooting days, and when that happened this season it was simply too much for Dallas to overcome. It didn’t help that DeJuan Blair was antagonizing the Spurs all game long, and may have helped to spark the 14-2 second quarter run that effectively put the game out of reach.

Next up for San Antonio will be the Portland Trail Blazers, who knocked off the Rockets on Damian Lillard’s memorable buzzer-beating three on Friday night. The season series was an even 2-2 split, with the Trail Blazers taking the first two games and San Antonio winning the second two. The series is set to begin on Tuesday night at the AT&T Center.
