Every year there’s a big turnout of Volkswagen fans to the Worthersee Festival, all hoping to glimpse the hallowed lines of a new VW concept car. This year the fans will undoubtedly be delighted with what Volkswagen has on offer, seen here in its sketched format, it’s the GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo concept

It marks the third installment of Gran Turismo 6’s exclusive DLC cars, and by now you’ll have noticed that it doesn’t exactly resemble the playful GTI. Instead, Volkswagen has chopped the top, dropped the stance, and added a few performance parts – as well as an aggressive body kit – to the recipe.

The GTI Vision boasts a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 that puts out 503-horsepower and a brawny 491 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to all four wheels through a seven-speed DSG transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. It ought to be pretty sticky too, aided in part by 15-inch vented disc brakes up front and with 14-inch units at the back.

The official unveiling will take place in Austria at the 2014 Worthersee festival on May 28.
