Watch Keith Olbermann's Emotional Farewell to Padres Legend Tony Gwynn (Video)

Watch Keith Olbermann get emotional as he says goodbye to Padres legend, and friend, Tony Gwynn (Video)

Yesterday, at the age of 54, Tony Gwynn passed away after losing his battle with salivary gland cancer. A member of the 3,000 hit club, and a career San Diego Padre, Gwynn hit at least .300 in 19 straight seasons, and struck out just 434 times in 10,232 plate appearances. Let that sink in for a minute. The Hall of Famer won eight batting titles, was a seven-time Silver Slugger, and showed he could do it on the defensive end as well by collecting five Gold Gloves. A 15-time All-Star, Mr. Padre left it all on the field. But aside from being an outstanding baseball player, Gwynn was also an outstanding human being. The tributes have been pouring in across the internet, including Keith Olbermann's emotional message last night. Watch Olbermann put the numbers aside, and remember the great man Tony Gwynn was.
