In the bottom of the sixth inning of last night's game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays, the Cards were down 2-1, however, the Jays had the bases loaded with none out and Jose Bautista at the plate. It had all the makings of a huge frame for Toronto...or the perfect time for St. Louis to pull off something they haven't done since 2005: a triple play!
After Bautista hit a sizzler right into the glove of Daniel Descalso for the first out, Descalso tossed it to Jhonny Peralta for the second out and then Peralta completed the triple play with a throw to first baseman Allen Craig. Unfortunately, the Cardinals couldn't ride the momentum of the historic play to victory. The Cards lost 3-1.
