According to Google Trends, Belgium Fans Are Confident That Their Team Is Going to Beat the U.S. in the World Cup Today

A quick search of Google Trends reveals some interesting facts about how Belgium and U.S. soccer fans are feeling today.

In just a few minutes, the U.S. Men's National Team is going to take the pitch to play Belgium in the knockout stage of the 2014 World Cup. So at the moment, there are a lot of fans of both Belgium and the U.S. using Google to get ready for the game. And a quick look at the Google Trends page for the Belgium vs. U.S. game reveals a bunch of really interesting things about what the fans of the two teams are looking for right now. Here are just a few of the observations we've made after looking at the Google Trends here:

  • The U.S. is receiving more than 90 percent of the world's attention right now.
  • Belgium fans are Googling things like "When do the Quarter-finals begin?" and "Who does Belgium play next?" while U.S. fans are looking up things like "Will Altidore play against Belgium?" and "Who plays for the Belgium national team?"
