During his NFL career, former running back Clinton Portis made quite a bit of money. His reported net worth is somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 million and he doesn't seem like a guy who would be struggling financially at the moment. However, according to a report out of Las Vegas, Portis is currently being sued by the MGM Grand for not paying off a substantial amount of debt that the hotel and casino says he owes.

The MGM Grand filed a lawsuit against Portis late last week, claiming that he obtained two "markers" at their casino back in January 2011 that were worth more than $10,000 combined. They say that when the casino tried to collect payment on those markers, they were unable to do so. And to date, the casino has not been paid for the markers, despite their repeated attempts to get Portis to pay up. So now, they're suing Portis for the original $10,000, plus an additional $1,000 in damages and attorneys' fees.

Portis is yet to respond to the lawsuit, but we'll be sure to keep you updated if and when he does.
