Last season, the New York Rangers went on a wild ride through the NHL playoffs, making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. They eventually fell to the L.A. Kings in the series, but that doesn’t mean that there weren’t a ton of great memories made along the way. In addition to magical moments, shared by players and fans alike, last season also gave rise to the “Welcome to Rangerstown” campaign.
A series of commercials starring big name Blueshirts such as Henrik Lundqvist, Derek Stepan, Marc Staal, and newly-named captain Ryan McDonagh, the campaign allowed fans to see a different side of the typically stoic players they see out on the ice.
Well, this past week, the NHL season got back into full swing, which means the Rangers are cranking out a whole new slate of Rangerstown shorts. Check out the first “Welcome to Rangerstown” commercial of the season, in which you can get a crash course in driving with McDonagh, Girardi, and Staal.
