Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide gave up 44 points ... and won. It's possible that Auburn's insane game-winning-missed-field-goal-returned-for-a-touchdown last year will always stick in the back of Alabama's mind, but getting a revenge 55-44 victory today certainly has to help ease the pain. Not only did they win, they came back from a 36-27 deficit by ripping off four straight touchdowns to take a lead they wouldn't give up. Here are some of the Iron Bowl records that were set this evening:

  • Most combined points: 99

  • Most combined total yards: 1,171

  • Most receiving yards (Amari Cooper): 224 (3 TD were just byproducts)

  • Tied for most points by Alabama: 55

And although they probably don't think it matters in a loss, Auburn QB Nick Marshall had a career night with 456 passing yards, and WR Sammie Coates accounted for 206 receiving yards.

Alabama secured an SEC West title this evening and will play Missouri next weekend in the SEC Championship. We'll leave you with one of Cooper's gems from this evening. He won't win the Heisman (Mariota is next-level), but he should certainly be in the conversation.
