There's something about women's MMA fighting that produces incredible finishes. The only women’s bout at UFC 180 turned out to be the most noteworthy fight of the night, as Jessica Eye beat Leslie Smith after Eye hit Smith so hard she nearly tore Smith’s ear off.
After a first round that saw Eye come out and swinging and bust Smith’s ear open a first time, ringside doctors allowed the fight to continue into a second round. This time, a swinging right from Eye ripped the ear open even further, and that was enough to cause the ref to stop it.
In case you were wondering how tough Smith is, she tried to get the ref to let the fight go on despite the fact that her ear was basically dangling off. Damn.
