Knowing When to Dunk Is Apparently Way Harder Than It Looks

Throwing down the perfect dunk requires both timing AND execution, as Florida's Devin Robinson discovered yesterday.

1.

While missing a dunk is something that can happen to even the most seasoned of high risers, 99.9 percent of the time these guys can at least touch the ball to the rim during their attempt.

Florida freshman Devin Robinson is the exception. During yesterday’s 73-61 loss to Georgia—which dropped the Gators to a surprising 10-7 on the season—Robinson obviously thought he was going to have a highlight reel play when he faked a shot, put his head down, and barreled towards the basket. As he reached peak of his jump and realized he was still several feet away from the hoop, you can almost hear him thinking “I’ve made a huge mistake.”

It's tough to fault him for trying to draw a foul call with that ridiculous fall/roll after he misses. Wouldn't you do the same thing to try to save face? While it wasn't enough to save him from embarrassment, Robinson can take solace in the fact that he at least pulled off a nice pump fake.
