Early last year, Golden Tate decided to leave the Seahawks and sign with the Lions after winning a Super Bowl with Seattle. It seemed like a curious move at the time because Tate was the best wide receiver on Seattle's roster. So some people speculated over why he decided to make the move. And at one point, there was even a rumor going around indicating that Tate had allegedly slept with Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson's wife, which was why he had decided to skip town so abruptly.

Apparently, that wasn't the case, though. Tate just wrote a piece for The Cauldron and, in it, he vehemently denies sleeping with Wilson's wife. He calls the rumors "unfounded" and says that he was good friends with Wilson during his time in Seattle.

"I did not have an affair with Russell Wilson's wife," he writes, "nor did I have anything to do with his divorce. That is laughable for anyone who knows us. His ex-wife Ashton is still best friends with my girlfriend. Russell and I were good friends when I was in Seattle, on and off the field—he knows the rumors about me were unfounded, damaging to my reputation, and an attack on my character. Anyone who circulated that rumor was just plain irresponsible."

Tate also writes about the alleged altercation that took place between him and former teammate Percy Harvin in Seattle. And while he admits that the two "did have an altercation," he says that Harvin never punched him in the face and gave him a black eye.

"No punches were thrown," he writes, "and it certainly never rose to the level that was erroneously reported by certain outlets."

You can read Tate's entire piece here. It's interesting to see him explain how these stories and others have changed the way that he interacts with people both online and IRL.
