Earlier this month, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota announced that he's going to be taking his talents to the NFL next season. But that doesn't mean that the Ducks won't have a Mariota on their roster in the fall. Because according to the @OregonPitCrew Twitter account, Mariota's younger brother Matthew Mariota is going to be joining the team as a walk-on:
The bad news is that it won't be easy for him to follow in his brother's footsteps. But the good news is that, unlike Marcus, Matthew doesn't play quarterback. He's a 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive lineman. So he'll get to forge his own path in Eugene without having to face constant comparisons to his big brother.
