Keith Olbermann hates Penn State University. We know this because, as recently as last month, the ESPN host put the school on his "World's Worst in Sports" list during an episode of Olbermann. You can watch him rip PSU to shreds in the video below. And even if you try to tell him about the good things that are happening at PSU, he apparently hates the university so much that he'll refuse to listen.

Because of this, Olbermann spent most of yesterday getting into it with PSU students on Twitter. It all started when one young lady sent him a link about the THON charity event that was held at the school over the weekend. Olbermann responded by calling PSU students "pitiful":

1.

@lisaadeleon ...Pitiful

— Keith Olbermann↙️ (@KeithOlbermann) February 23, 2015

Naturally, that led to a lot of PSU supporters @-ing him on Twitter to call him pitiful:

2.

.@dave_seidel No, Son. I said PSU students were pitiful. Had nothing to do with fundraising #AlsoPSUReadingComprehensionAppearsToBeWeak

— Keith Olbermann↙️ (@KeithOlbermann) February 23, 2015

And Olbermann was more than happy to respond to each and every one of them. It led to exchanges like this:

3.

@codykon inability? It's a choice. You're Penn State. End of discussion.

— Keith Olbermann↙️ (@KeithOlbermann) February 23, 2015

And this:

4.

.@dave_seidel her tweet reads "we are..." I finished her sentence "...pitiful." At this rate your diploma won't be recognized, Moron

— Keith Olbermann↙️ (@KeithOlbermann) February 23, 2015

And, well, all of these:

5.

.@dave_seidel Again - get your $ back - you didn't learn how to read. PSU students are pitiful because they're PSU students - period.

— Keith Olbermann↙️ (@KeithOlbermann) February 23, 2015

And at the end of it, Olbermann left the PSU students with this parting shot:

6.

I'd like to thank the students and alums of Penn State for proving my point about the mediocrity of their education and ethics.

— Keith Olbermann↙️ (@KeithOlbermann) February 24, 2015

Yeah, like we said, he hates Penn State University. And it doesn't look like any amount of convincing is going to change that.

UPDATE:

ESPN just announced that they have suspended Olbermann for the rest of the week. They released this statement a short time ago:

We are aware of the exchange Keith Olbermann had on Twitter last night regarding Penn State. It was completely inappropriate and does not reflect the views of ESPN. We have discussed it with Keith, who recognizes he was wrong. ESPN and Keith have agreed that he will not host his show for the remainder of this week and will return on Monday. The annual tradition of THON and the efforts of the students of Penn State to fight pediatric cancer should be applauded.

Olbermann has apologized for what he did on Twitter:

7.

I apologize for the PSU tweets. I was stupid and childish and way less mature than the students there who did such a great fundraising job.
