Obituary of Seahawks Fan Cites "Lousy Play Call" As Cause of Death

A Seattle Seahawks fan has "a lousy play call" jokingly listed as his cause of death.

If you're either a Seahawks fan or a compulsive gambler, odds are you were (or, more likely, still are) pissed about the way the Super Bowl ended. But at some point you're going to have to get over it, lest you want to hold an unattractive Bill Buckner-type grudge. If you're still upset, take a lesson from the obituary of Michael Sven Vedvik, a Spokane, Wash. native and Seattle diehard whose sister and brother-in-law chalked up his death to his beloved Seahawks' final play.

Coach Carroll can sleep well because, obviously, they're kidding. But how did Vedvik actually feel about the sequence? Well, that's actually a bummer. Turns out Vedvik had to DVR the game because he wasn't feeling good. We're all going to die someday, but it's really bad fortune to have a fatal heart attack before getting to see your team in the championship (win or lose). He passed, we assume, before ever witnessing the ending, but his wife, Stephanie, let us know how her husband would've felt about both the obituary:

"My husband would have thought it was hysterical. If I had read this obituary to my husband about somebody else, he would have had a laugh.”

And the final play:

"It was just so true because my husband would have said, ‘What a dumbass.’”
