Earlier this morning, we learned that Iman Shumpert had a conspiracy theory about Empire and their apparent plagiarism of both him and girlfriend Teyana Taylor. Many of us weren't sure what to make of it, but when it came to conspiracy theories posted on the internet, it was probably one of the more plausible ones (by default, but still).

That fact didn't stop Shumpert from correcting the record on the whole subject. Today he told TMZ Sports that he doesn't believe the hit show based characters Hakeem Lyon and Tiana Brown on him and Taylor. Instead, he said friends had told them the on-screen couple "favors [them]." Earlier he had stated that he doesn't even watch the program. He called the whole story "out of hand," and apologized to the actors saying they "don't deserve slander." After saying he needed to choose his words more carefully he went after the writer/interviewer, saying:

"I do not appreciate the writer using his questions with my answers to draw quotes like I was making these elaborate answers but that's the media. The writer took a 2-3 min convo of locker room talk after a GREAT TEAM WIN and made it look like a sit down interview and it wasn't."

Hopefully that clears everything up for everyone. And if not *shrugs* oh well.
