When Fancy Dunk Attempts Go Wrong: DeMar DeRozan Fails at 360 Slam

When hot-dogging it goes wrong

For a guy who as recently as a few days ago said he's been playing like trash, attempting a 360 dunk on a breakaway in the first quarter of a basketball game is a curious move.

Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan decided to go all NBA Dunk Contest as he sprinted out ahead of the pack on a breakaway against the New York Knicks, with nothing but the hoop in his sights. DeRozan went up for the 360 slam, but came up way short out of his spin and left the ball to graze the front of the rim before trickling off.

DeRozan tried to make up for the misstep by attempting a put back, but it gets blocked and the ball ends up back with the Knicks. If you look closely, you can see Tyler Hansbrough chilling in the background, sipping his tea and whispering, "If it were me, I would have totally made that lay-up."
