For eight years Darrelle Revis has locked down the NFL's most elite of receivers. First he did it with the Jets, then the Bucs, then he won a ring with New England. Now the free agent and six-time Pro Bowler is returning to the franchise that took him 14th overall in 2007.

Last season Revis had 44 tackles, two picks and a fumble recovery. His 23 career interceptions sound like a merely respectable total for an eight-year-vet, but then you realize that nobody ever throws his way. It's unclear what the specifics of Revis's deal are, but we can tell you that it's for a record-setting amount of dough:

1.

While specifics of Darrelle Revis' deal are uncertain, this much is not: it will make him the highest-paid CB in NFL history.

This isn't really surprising, since the price to lock down half the field isn't something that comes cheap. As someone who will be 30 by the time the NFL season kicks off, he should still have a few good years left.

2.

@Revis24 signs for 5-year, $70M deal. Includes $39M FULLY guaranteed, $33M in the first two years. #Jets
