The defending American League Champion Royals are starting this season by both winning ball games, and fighting everything in sight. This past weekend they got into a series-long brawl with the Oakland A's after they deemed a slide by A's third baseman Brett Lawrie to be dirty. They took the moral high ground by whizzing a 100 MPH fastball towards his head.
Tonight they got into a brawl with the Chicago White Sox (a team they already had a chippy opening series with) because...I don't know. A groundball was hit back up the middle at pitcher (and staff ace) Yordano Ventura, who inexplicably yelled "fuck you" at the guy who hit it (Sox outfielder Adam Eaton). After the minor fight ended, three Royals (Ventura, Lorenzo Cain and Edison Volquez) were ejected alongside two Sox (Jeff Samardzija and tonight's other starting pitcher Chris Sale).

Already this year we've seen Ventura ejected for pegging the aforementioned Lawrie, and clear benches after he talked shit to the Angels' Mike Trout (which was also for no reason). We're not sure what type of bug Ventura and the Royals have up their collective butt, but they've now been in four fairly major spats already in this campaign.
As of now, we're two-and-a-half weeks into the season. This puts them on pace for roughly 40 of these types of incidents by the start of October.
