Wisconsin Slays a Giant and Ends Kentucky's Perfect Season, Drake Slander Ensues

Kentucky losing and Drake slander all in one

For the duration of the regular season and much of the NCAA Tournament, we wondered aloud "Who can beat Kentucky?" At times it felt more like a talking point, something to drive conversation, rather than a tangible reality. John Calipari had built a behemoth of a team, with immense size inside and the Harrison twins, returning for their sophomore season, handling the ball in the backcourt.

Then Wisconsin happened. While Kentucky struggled to dispatch Notre Dame in the Elite Eight, Wisconsin took out Arizona with relative ease, using the inside out combination of Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker to knock out the Wildcats and move on to play Kentucky, a matchup they made public they wanted.

And it was Dekker again, who hit the dagger 3 against Arizona, who buried another Wildcat. With 1:45 left in the game, and the score tied at 60, Dekker, with the lumbering Karl-Anthony Towns guarding him on a switch, stepped back and nailed a 3 to put the Badgers up for good.

Kentucky was the first undefeated team to arrive at a Final Four since UNLV in 1991. And like that Runnin' Rebels team, they lost before they could hoist a trophy. It was odd to see a team that hadn't lost all year react to their first disappointment, but this shot of Calipari about sums it up,

Wisconsin will face Duke in the national championship on Monday. Kentucky ends their spectacular season at 38-1. For now, all that's left to enjoy is the immense Drake slander that is currently taking place on Twitter.
