Matt Barnes Rips Former NBA Player Casey Jacobsen on Twitter for Criticizing Blake Griffin

Matt Barnes doesn't handle criticism very well.

Unless you spent a lot of time watching Stanford play between 1999 and 2002 or you're a fan of the German League, you're probably not all that familiar with former NBA player Casey Jacobsen. He spent a few seasons with the Suns and Hornets between 2002 and 2005. But after fizzling out of the NBA, he made his mark in the basketball world overseas, winning the German League MVP award in 2007 and 2010.

He's back on NBA fans' radars today, though, because of something that he said about Clippers forward Matt Barnes last night. Or more specifically, because of something Barnes said to Jacobsen after he offered up some criticism of Blake Griffin.

At one point during the Clippers/Spurs game last night, Jacobsen wrote this:

1.

With 5 seconds on shot clock, Blake HAS to take that shot. Even if he misses, he can't give it to Matt Barnes. #LACvsSAS

It wasn't the worst thing in the world, right? Eh, right. It's not like Jacobsen wrote, "BLAKE GRIFFIN AND MATT BARNES SUCK AND SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED ON AN NBA COURT." But Barnes didn't like what Jacobsen wrote, so a few hours later, he responded to Jacobsen. And he did so in just about the meanest way possible:

2.

Yikes. Jacobsen didn't see the tweet until this morning. But he responded by telling Barnes that he wasn't "trying to pick a fight" with him:

3.

@Matt_Barnes22 That's low, man. Not trying to pick a fight w/u. Just commenting that Blake needs to shoot when open and not pass to anyone.

And that's probably for the best. Let this be a lesson to everyone out there: Don't talk trash about Matt Barnes on Twitter—or hell, even mention Matt Barnes on Twitter—or he will hunt you down and say some really mean stuff to you.
