Only the game clock could prevent Paul Pierce from sending Game 6 of the Wizards/Hawks series into overtime.

In Game 3 of the Wizards/Hawks series, Paul Pierce was the hero, calling game and knocking down a tough fadeaway game-winning jumper before time expired. In Game 6, Pierce nearly pulled off some of the same heroics. If he only had another second left on the clock. With Washington down by three and only 6.4 seconds remaining, John Wall caught the inbounds pass. Almost immediately, it looked like the play broke down.

After making his way towards the middle of the court, Wall flung the ball to Pierce, who managed to pirouette his way around Kyle Korver while staying inbounds and keeping his feet behind the three-point line. On one foot, The Truth launched a three-pointer and tied the game up at 94, sending the contest into overtime. Right?

After reviewing the play, the referees reversed the call and the basket was no good.
