Roy Hibbert has been pretty bad at basketball the past couple seasons. His points per game average has declined every season since 2011-2012, and he hasn't shot 50 percent from the field since the 2009-2010 NBA season. Once a double-double machine who was guaranteed to get at least two blocks per game, Hibbert is searching for something, anything to turn his fortunes around. Enter jiu-jitsu.

On the behest of UFC president Dana White, Hibbert hit up the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in California recently, to learn very basketball pertinent things like how to execute a triangle choke hold. In the clip above, we find Hibbert rolling around on top of his instructor while being told things like "Don't just lay on people! Connect to them!"

No shots at jiu-jitsu, though. Perhaps Hibbert's training will allow him to be come more agile and quicker with his hands on the court for the Indiana Pacers. At the very least, he'll be able to quickly take down Joakim Noah when things get physical underneath the hoop.
