Dunking is still a novelty in women's basketball. But when it comes to three-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner, it's become commonplace for women's basketball fans to see her throw it down at will during games.

However, during a live segment on ESPN's SportsCenter today, the 6-foot-8 Mercury center failed to live up to her usual standards when she was asked to throw down a dunk. On her first attempt, Griner missed a two-handed slam. Then, she backed up before her second attempt, tied her shoelaces tighter, and...BOINK! Missed again.

Her third attempt was the charm as she went for a one-handed banger with ease:

And to her credit, she totally redeemed herself this afternoon with a two-handed slam during the WNBA All-Star Game:

But what happened on those first two dunks? Granted, we couldn't dunk live on SportsCenter. But then again, we aren't going to go down as one of the most dominant women's basketball players of all time, either.
