In addition to being perhaps the greatest internationally-born player the NBA has ever seen, Dirk Nowitzki has always been an avid lover of music.

In a recent interview on the pilot episode of the Awesome Boring podcast, Dirk talks about his earlier playing days, and how he used to sing songs to himself at the free throw line to alleviate some of the pressure.

In this particular case, he specifically remembers singing "Mr. Jones" from Counting Crows, and even gave us the opportunity to hear exactly what that sounded like.

This isn't as embarrassing as the last time Dirk told us about his musical preferences.

Since David Hasselhoff was popular as a singer in Germany when Nowitzki was growing up, his in-game song of choice used to be "Looking for Freedom," which was evidently one of the Hoff's bigger hits.
