On Wednesday afternoon, former tennis star James Blake revealed that he had been tackled and handcuffed by an NYPD officer outside of a hotel in New York City. The reason for why it happened? A group of five NYPD officers claimed that they thought Blake was an identify theft suspect that they were looking for in the area. Since the incident took place, Blake has talked to the New York Daily News, Good Morning America, and several other media outlets about exactly what happened and how Blake believes the officers used excessive force.

A short time ago, a surveillance video of Blake's arrest was released and, as you can see, he wasn't given any warning before an NYPD officer tackled him to the ground. It appears as though he was minding his business outside of the Grand Hyatt hotel when the officer appeared out of nowhere and threw him down. The video cuts off right after Blake is handcuffed, but this played out exactly the way Blake described it.

The NYPD has already apologized for what happened. But now that this video is out, it'll be interesting to see what else they have to say. Stay tuned.
