Some Wealthy Michigan Wolverine Fans Left a $3000 Tip in a Salt Lake City Restaurant After Losing to Utah

Michigan Wolverine fans leave $3000-tip in a Salt Lake City restaurant after loss to Utah

You never know when you can be at the right place at the right time in life.

A great example of this comes courtesy of some wealthy University of Michigan football fans who take losses with grace, and tip their servers very generously. The Wolverine diehards were in Salt Lake City last Thursday for their team's matchup versus the Utah Utes. So they went above and beyond the term "sportsmanlike conduct" upon the loss by tipping a financially struggling server named Breanne Snow with a whopping $3000 for her work at Bourbon House restaurant in Salt Lake City after the game. This tip was on top of their already expensive $505-total bill.

The patrons paid with an American Express Centurion Black Card, and Snow posted a pic of the receipt on the Instagram handle @tipsforjesus, which was written on the receipt along with the hashtag #GoBlue. This Instagram handle has gained some recognition since 2013, when it's first posted pic showed another receipt with a $3000-tip in the city of Ann Arbor, the location of the University of Michigan. The postings of these generous tips have amassed over 89,000 followers as of press time.

Jason LeCates, the owner of the restaurant stated about the patron's Daddy Warbucks-style tip, "I've been in the bar business for 19 years and I've never seen anything like this. I think it's awesome."

Snow said in reaction to finding the gratuity on the bill, "I went and cried in the corner for a couple minutes." According to her, she and her boyfriend both work two jobs to pay off debt. Snow continued, "We're working so hard and never see the payout from it. It came as such a relief. He could have picked anyone else in there, and for him to pick me, it meant a lot because we were working so hard."

For someone who likely only gets a standard 18-to-20 percent gratuity per serving of a table, and then getting a 600-plus percent tip, you can guess that Snow would be feeling like, "Wayyyyyyyyyyy up, I feel blessed!"

But the remaining question is "How much food and drinks did these Michigan fans order to make it over a $500-bill alone?" But still, it must be nice to splurge so frivolously.

And if you know restaurants that frequently show up on this @tipforjesus Instagram, or Michigan fans in town that frequent those eateries, tweet to me immediately so I can fill out an application to that restaurant with the #GoBlue hashtag.
