We can't even begin to describe how tired we are of typing that word. We can't stand that word anymore. And yet, here we are, almost nine months after it first infiltrated the sports media, and we're still being forced to use it. WHY WON'T DEFLATEGATE JUST END?
We have to say, though: If we are tired of it, can you imagine how Tom Brady must feel? Deflategate has, to a degree, ruined his reputation. It has served as a big distraction for him this offseason. It very well may force him to miss four games during the upcoming 2015-16 NFL season. It even led to this horrible courtroom sketch of him:
And now, it might be leading to—GASP—divorce for him.
That's right. As if Deflategate couldn't ruin his life any more than it already has, Brady is now dealing with divorce rumors surrounding his marriage to Gisele Bündchen. According to a new Us Weekly report, Deflategate has put such a strain on Brady's marriage that Gisele has spoken with a lawyer and considered filing for divorce from him.
"Tom's become very nasty and irritable and started acting out on her," a source told Us Weekly. "Things are very tense right now. This could be the end of them…Tom thinks it's only a threat. But this is definitely a rough patch."
Could you imagine? It's one thing for Brady to miss a few football games or deal with a shitty courtroom sketch being the photo that sports blogs use for all their posts about him for years to come. But now, playing with slightly deflated footballs in a game that was a blowout anyway might ruin his marriage, too?
What could possibly be next? Brady's kids hate him because of the Deflategate atrocity? Welp. At this point, would anyone even be surprised?
