Yoenis Cespedes has been on an offensive tear since coming to the Mets in a July 31 trade from the Tigers, but his defense on this particular play was about as bad as it gets.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth and the Nationals already leading 3-1, Michael Taylor hit what should have been a single into center field. But Cespedes somehow allowed the ball to get by him, and Taylor ended up with an inside-the-park grand slam instead.

Somewhat incredibly, the Mets came back to win this game 8-7, and Cespedes hit a three-run double the next inning to help lead the charge.
