We’re sure that there are plenty of rugby players who are fine human beings. However, most of the ones who end up making the news here—remember these guys?—are anything but charming. And an Australian rugby player named Matthew Lodge, who played for the Wests Tigers in Sydney, added to that by allegedly acting like a complete fool in New York City late last week.

According to reports, the 20-year-old was arrested very early Friday morning in NYC after he yelled “This is the night you die!” at two women and then followed them into their apartment building. While there, he allegedly broke into a resident’s apartment, punched him in the head and caused “swelling and bruising,” and then locked himself inside of the apartment and tore through the place. Police were eventually able to subdue him but not before he caused significant damage.

Lodge has been charged with felonyburglary and assault and is being held on $20,000 bail. He was also released by the Wests Tigers as a result of what happened. What a guy.
