Iran’s women’s soccer team might not be a women’s team at all.

According to Mojtabi Sharifi, an official close to the Iranian women's league, eight of the members of the team are actually men awaiting sex changes. None of them have been named, but Sharifi claims the eight players are still technically men who are “completing sex change operations.” Oddly enough, this wouldn’t come as a huge shock, seeing as how four female Iranian players were accused of being men last year. But it could cause some problems for the team in the near future.

As of right now, Iranian officials have ordered gender testing to take place on all of the team’s players before they decide what action to take next. Iran’s women’s team is currently ranked 59th in the world by FIFA.
