DeMarco Murray Reportedly Bumped to Fourth String

Just a few days after meeting with the Eagles' owner.

Last season he was the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year, then DeMarco Murray left the Cowboys to sign with the Eagles, and now he's averaging 3.5 yards per carry. There's probably a lesson there. As if that weren't a big enough fall, he's now reportedly dropped to as low as fourth on Philly's running back depth chart, listed below Darren Sproles, Ryan Mathews and possibly evenKenjon Barner.

"Murray is expected to be fourth most used (4th String) running back today for the #Eagles."

The Eagles considered benching Murray for today's game, but ultimately decided against it, which leaves room for an even further fall in the future.
