A Philadelphia man was arrested late Sunday night after he allegedly shot and killed a man and wounded two others during a viewing party for the Cardinals/Eagles game on Sunday Night Football.

According to Philadelphia police, the man, identified as 51-year-old Bartholomew Nelson, picked up a gun and opened fire at around midnight on Sunday, a short time after the Eagles’ 40-17 loss. He allegedly killed 51-year-old Leotis Martin in the process and also wounded a 58-year-old man and a 52-year-old man before leaving the scene. Police caught up with him a few blocks away and arrested him, charging him with aggravated assault, illegal gun possession, and several related charges.

“After the football game, at some time around midnight, for some reason, a 51-year-old man pulled out a gun and started firing shots at the three people he was with watching the football game that were sitting on the couch,” Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Smalltold NBC Philadelphia.

It’s unclear if the shooting was directly related to the game. We’ll be sure to provide you with more details if they become available.
