After just two seasons and an 8-24 record, Lovie Smith was fired as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this week. The Buccaneers will now look to hire third coach in six seasons. With names like Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin and Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott awaiting an opportunity to interview for the vacant position, the Bucs should also look into Andrew Forgino

If the name doesn't ring a bell, that's fine. Forgino is a Bucs fan who hails from Titusville, Fla. Just 12 hours after the news of Lovie's firing surfaced, Andrew applied to become the next head coach of the Buccaneers through the "Contact Us" page of the team's website. Take a look at the screenshot of the application which he posted on his Facebook page.

In addition to citing his military service and aviation background and claiming to be a "well-round fantasy football manager," Forgino also left the following message for the Bucs' ownership and general manager Jason Licht:

Dear Glazer Family and Mr.Licht, It is with great opportunity that I, Andrew Forgino apply for the head coaching position left vacant. As you can see from my lengthy resume below that I have a career in leadership and devotion to winning. I served my country honorably and with pride. My sole purpose was to get up every day and accomplish the mission at stake. This Buccaneers team is a special organization, because it never gets respect. When you have a team that is disrespected you can motivate them to do huge things. I can come in and start a fire in all of these men and like a laser beam focus that energy to accomplish the mission which is win a championship. This will take some time, but also no excuses will be made and everyone will be held accountable. I'm an aviation mechanic and my line of work is very relatable to coaching. You can't just take a shortcut, you have to do your research, assemble the proper tools, and carry out the mission with a solid plan of attack. As a coach/mechanic you wont always know the right answer but the key to this is that you KNOW WHERE to find the RIGHT answer. So let's do this. Lovie Smith was a great coach and if you hire me I can carry on what his vision was; which is a title. We need some more pieces but the foundation is solid. Let's keep building that structure and before you know it we will right where we need to be. Attached is my resume below. I hope to hear from the organization soon. Thank you for your time and let's get this ship headed full steam ahead. #itsabucslife

If this opportunity doesn't come to fruition, Andrew has a backup plan: NASA astronaut.

It may seem crazy, but hey, after seeing Smith, Greg Schiano and Raheem Morris fail to rise to the occasion, it may be time to start thinking more outside of the box.
