Ric Flair Takes Shot at Ohio State During Michigan's Star-Studded Signing Day

Michigan decided to do Signing Day a little differently this year. 

Celebrating the first day recruits can sign national letters of intent to the school of their choice, Michigan's second year head coach Jim Harbaugh brought in a bevy of stars like Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, and Migos, to participate in an event the school and Jeter's Players' Tribune billed as the "Signing of the Stars." And much to the assembled crowd's delight, one Wolverines fan had words for the school's in-state arch rivals and that other team Michigan hates so, so much. 

Wrestling legend Ric Flair, who revealed he actually signed a letter of intent to play football at Michigan in 1968, addressed the crowd and talked about how humbled he was to be on hand. But ever the showman, Flair couldn't resist calling out Ohio State and Michigan State, much to the Michigan faithful's delight. 

No other school in the nation dared to pull off such a star-studded affair like Michigan did today, bringing out the big guns like Brady, a graduate, and Jeter, a huge fan who turned down a scholarship to Michigan in order to pursue professional baseball. It looks like Harbaugh's unusual recruiting tactics—which included multiple sleepovers in the weeks leading up to Signing Day—seems to have paid off. Michigan landed the nation's top recruit in Rashan Gary, a defensive lineman out of New Jersey and depending on which recruiting service you subscribe to, are believed to have scored one of the top five classes in the nation.
