DeMarco Murray Says He Feels Fresh Because He "Took a Year Off Last Year"

Oh, that's gotta sound like music to the ears of Eagles fans.

Earlier today, the Philadelphia Eagles and Titans finalized a deal that sent DeMarco Murray to Tennessee just one season after signing a five-year, $42 million contract. After arriving at the team's facility on Wednesday, Murray spoke with TitansOnline.com and cracked a joke that Eagles fans will surely think is just hilarious. "I feel like I took a year off last year, so I am fresh," he said.

Even though Murray led the Eagles in carries (193) last season, his workload greatly paled in comparison to his breakout 2014 campaign with the Dallas Cowboys where he had 392 attempts. While the blame could be put on the shoulders of now former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, DeMarco did little throughout the season to make a case for more playing time, averaging just 3.6 yards per rush, less than fellow running backs, Ryan Mathews (5.0) and Darren Sproles (3.8).

Either way, the past is the past and Murray is definitely motivated by this new opportunity with the Titans. But first, another little dig at Chip! "I look forward to competing every day and getting back on track and running the ball the way I know I can, and running plays I am intrigued by." Ah, we see what you did there, DeMarco!
