I'm not 100 percent sure what Twitter's original intent was but, nevertheless, it sure has found a solid niche amongst anonymous individuals who like to harass and send death threats to public figures. Usually said threats get overlooked/ignored but, on occasion, the police will decide to investigate, which is one of probably hundreds of reasons why you shouldn't do it.

TMZ Sports is reporting that the LAPD are currently investigating one such threat that was fired off @ Chris Paul two weeks ago. The tweet read "@CP3 if I knew where you lived I'd probably kill your wife and frame you for it. I watch dateline I get away with it." After Clippers security saw that they reported it to the authorities who are currently following up on it. Thus far they have not located a suspect.

Previously (as in 2014) Paul had talked to the police about an obnoxious Instagram troll that had spent a year, a precious year of his/her life, bothering the L.A. point guard with "annoying comments" on family pictures. That troll had not gotten to the point of physical threats. But, regardless, cops are looking for him/her also.

There's a life lesson here and that lesson is to not use killing somebody, or their wife, as a punch line. Seems like it should've already been pretty obvious. After all I'm guessing these were jokes, but who knows. That's the point. Also getting hobbies can be good.
