The Ben Simmons era at LSU may have ended on a sour note after the nation's best freshmanβ and widely predicted No. 1Β overall NBA Draft come this June (if he declares for the draft, duh!)β the Tigers played their worst game of the season to Texas A&M in the SEC tournament semifinals on Saturday. The landslide victory for the Aggies ended with a final score of 71-38, with LSU only scoring an abysmal 13 points in the first half.
Leave it up to Twitter to leave more of a sour taste to many a Tigers' and Ben's fans' mouths. Even though Simmons scored 10 points and 12 rebounds (his 23rd double-double of the season, and tied for third all-time amongst freshman D-1 players to reach that mark in NCAA history), it wasn't enough to stop the avalanche from falling over the cliff onto his teammmates' and coach's heads.
In what may be his last game of his college career, here's some of what Twitter couldn't have cared less about holding back when speaking about the blowout:
We will see how Ben fairs stock-wise to NBA scouts during the rookie camps before the Draft, because his value is certainly endangered somewhat after today.
