When it comes to equal pay, female athletes still have a way to go before they catch up to men. We were reminded of that earlier this week when the USWNT filed a wage discrimination complaint against U.S. Soccer. Sadly, when it comes to athlete arrests women also lag well behind their male counterparts. Hopefully both gaps can be closed within our lifetimes.

Last night retired superstar Abby Wambach, the all-time leading scorer in international soccer, male or female, did her best to help with the latter when she got a misdemeanor DUI charge. She was booked just after 2 A.M. in Portland, Ore. You can check out her mugshot above, as you likely figured out the second you opened the damn page.

She was released afterward on her own recognizance.

In case you're wondering a DUI conviction in Oregon carries a minimum sentence of two days. She could also face up to a year in jail, a license suspension of one-year, and a $2,000 fine.
