The Brooklyn Nets have signed their sixth coach of the past five years and it's none other than *scrolls up to read headline* Atlanta Hawks assistant Kenny Atkinson. We're unsure of the exact length of the contract, but it's reportedly a multi-year deal.

The 48-year-old Atkinson had a lengthy playing career in Europe (1990-2004) before joining the coaching ranks in 2008. During that year he was an assistant for the Knicks, a position he held through 2012. After that he made his move south to the Hawks where he's been Mike Budenholzer's top guy for the past two seasons.

He will continue in his current role as an assistant until Atlanta's eliminated from the playoffs. Which is to say he'll officially assume the position of Nets coach in two to four weeks.
